• Getting started

  The register starts empty. Tap "Load Demo Items" to see how it works, or go to the Teacher Dashboard to add your own items. To open the Teacher Dashboard, tap the lock icon and enter your 6-digit password. The default password is 123456.

• Adding items

  Tap "Take Picture" to photograph a real classroom item with the iPad camera, or tap "Add from Camera Roll" to use an existing photo. Each item gets a name and price you can edit inline. You can add up to 20 items.

• Editing and managing items

  Tap "Edit" in the Shop Items panel to rename items, change prices, reorder, or delete them. Use the sort button to order items by name, price, or the order they were added.

• Changing currency

  Open Teacher Dashboard -> Prices & Currency, then tap the currency symbol button. You can search by name, code, or symbol across more than 150 currencies. The "Use pence / cents" toggle switches to sub-unit pricing, for example 150p displays as GBP 1.50.

• Pricing modes

  Fixed mode gives each item a set price you choose. Random mode randomises prices on a schedule: every "Start Again", daily, or only when you trigger it manually.

• Register modes

  Simple mode lets children tap items and shows the receipt after a set number of items from 1 to 15. Sidebar mode lets children build a basket in the right-hand panel and tap Pay. Sidebar mode is landscape only.

• Changing the password

  Open Teacher Dashboard -> Settings -> Change password. Passwords must be a 6-digit number. If you are locked out, enter 001199 on the password screen to reset the password to 123456 and clear all data.

• Themes

  Open Teacher Dashboard -> Theme to choose from 3 presets or fully customise the colours.

• Sharing your shop with another iPad

  Open Teacher Dashboard -> Share & Import -> Share via AirDrop. On the other iPad, tap the received file to import all items, photos, prices, and settings.

• Importing a shop

  Tap "Import" in Share & Import, or open a .shopregister file from Files or AirDrop. Importing replaces your current items.

• The receipt

  The receipt appears automatically when the item limit is reached in Simple mode or when Pay is tapped in Sidebar mode. It shows a visual breakdown with a ding sound. Tap "Start Again" to reset for the next customer.
