About Story Shuffle
Story Shuffle is an iPad app for helping children create visual story prompts. Children can browse built-in cards, add their own cards using the camera or photo library, shuffle a random story prompt, build a story manually, and save finished prompts as images.

What is the default teacher PIN?
On a fresh install, the default teacher PIN is
1234. -
Where is Teacher Mode?
Teacher Mode is opened from the lock button in the top-right corner of the home screen.

Does Story Shuffle use cloud sync?
No. Story Shuffle stores cards and settings locally on the iPad. It does not use cloud sync.

Why does the app ask for camera or photo access?
Camera and photo library access are only used when adding custom story cards or saving a finished story image. The built-in cards work without granting these permissions.

What happens if camera access is denied?
You can still use the built-in cards. On devices or simulators without camera access, Story Shuffle can use the photo library flow instead.

What happens if Photos access is denied?
Saving story images and importing photos will be unavailable until Photos permission is enabled in iPadOS Settings.

Can I reset local data?
Teacher Mode includes local data management tools. You can restore built-in cards or delete local data from the teacher dashboard.
Troubleshooting
Make sure the iPad is running a supported version of iPadOS, check camera and photo permissions in Settings, and close and reopen Story Shuffle. If the issue continues, email developer@benwiddowson.com with the iPad model, iPadOS version, and a short description of what happened.
Privacy
Story Shuffle is designed for local use on the device. Custom cards and saved story images stay on the iPad unless you choose to share or export them outside the app. For more detail, see the Story Shuffle privacy policy.
